Q: Tell us about yourself.

A:  My name is Marilyn, I'm the general manager of a hair salon.

Q:  Why did you come to Decatur Vein Clinic?

A:  Two years ago, I was having knee pains.  I went to my family doctor and she suggested that I do a MRI.  I was expecting to have knee replacement surgery, but the results of the MRI showed I had a very large vein in my leg.  My doctor recommended Decatur Vein Clinic and set up the appointment for me to go.

Q:  What issues were you having?

A:  My legs were tired.  They would jitter at night and would wake me up.  They hurt when I walked and it was continual.  I work eleven hours a day and am on my feet continually.  In the morning I would take a pill to help relieve the pain and discomfort I was experiencing.  Then when I got home from work, I would always sit down and put my feet up.

Q:  How has your treatment at Decatur Vein Clinic helped you?

A:  It's been a 180 for me.  I sleep well now.  I'm very outdoorsy so I can pursue all of that activity again.  And I didn't have to have any surgery.  The pain and discomfort is gone; I have absolutely no pain at all.

I'm able to do all the things that I stopped doing because of the pain.  I work with children at a camp and do nature hikes and I'm back to doing that again.  There for a while I had stopped because of the problems I was having.
