Treatment

What causes varicose veins? Healthy veins use healthy valves to return blood back toward the heart. When these valves fail, blood pools in the legs or feet, resulting in weakened vein walls. This condition is known as venous insufficiency. If left untreated, it can cause unsightly and painful varicose veins.

Your Treatment Options

We specialize in state-of-the-art, non-surgical treatments that take only 1 hour or less per appointment.

Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy (USGS)
With USGS, our phlebologists deliver a sclerosing medication into varicose veins. Over the next few days, the medication causes the diseased veins to restrict their own blood flow, which reroutes your blood to healthier veins. Once treatment is complete, the body dissolves the treated veins, which should disappear within a few months to a year.

Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)
Our phlebologists also use a laser fiber, EVLT, to treat diseased veins. EVLT is primarily used for larger veins, usually in the thigh or calf. During the diagnostic procedure, if other diseased veins are identified, they can be treated at the same time with USGS.

Treatment Time
It generally takes 6 visits, on average, to complete treatment. Upon completion, patients are asked to return for 3 follow-up visits over a period of time to ensure optimal results. Plan to have treatment and return to work or your normal activities when you leave!

We hope you’ll visit us soon, so that we can provide you with more detailed information and put you on the path to better feeling, better looking legs.

Why choose us?

Our procedures are non-surgical and state-of-the-art. Some vein clinics still practice vein stripping, which requires surgery and anesthesia. That means time off from work, scarring, pain and numbness at the surgical incision sites, as well as the risks associated with anesthesia and hospitalization.
